This is the product of a hard day of work. There is something to be said for the satisfaction one receives for a day of hard productive work. We have not been able to get firewood for five years and that is one of the traditions we had while living in Idaho. So it was nice to be able to go up as a family and work together to get some wood and create some good memories together.

A FAMILY TRADITION

It Has Been Awhile
It has been two months since the big move and things are plugging right along. I sometimes miss the lazy days with my husband and kids, but I am glad to be back in Idaho involved in the things that I am.
I am now the Valiant 9 girls teacher and over the activity days for that age group. I completed my CNA program and will be taking the semester off to get more money built up and just work. It is so strange to not be on the computer anymore, which then keeps me from seeing the goings on in my family and friends’ lives. I sometimes feel out of place without my own home, but I also feel very blessed to have the generosity of my in-laws to open their home to us to give us a place to stay until we can have our own home again.
M has passed driver’s education and is now driving with a licensed adult in the car with her. I am not sure where the time has gone because I am not sure I feel old enough to have a driving child. She does pretty well. She had the opportunity to go to EFY for a whole week and loved it. When we heard her testimony in church, we knew that it was worth all the sacrifices made to get her there.
J went to girls’ camp and enjoyed herself. She is not too excited for school to start, but we find with our little J that she gripes about things because she hates any kinds of change that takes her out of her comfort level and then once she has done it, she says she enjoys it. She went rafting with the youth and loved it. She had her first real babysitting job and did an excellent job.
C is excited to start school. She loves that I am teaching her primary class. She has always been my little shadow, and so I enjoy this time I get to be with her. She enjoyed having her cousin to play for two weeks.
K is excited to begin school this year. He has been able to play with boys and that has been the highlight of his summer. He loves the mountains and was able to go up in them a few times. He loves all the room he gets to run and have fun outside. Grandma’s sandbox was quite fun and now there is a trampoline, so life is good for the little man.
We finally were able to get up into the mountains. They have been calling our names since we crossed the Idaho border. We went to Redfish Lake and enjoyed playing in the water and the sand.
The Lord continues to bless us. We are thankful for the generosity of family and support and prayers said in our behalf. We know the Lord answers our prayers through people in our lives and for this we are so blessed.

We Did Moving Clampett Style.
What an experience. We are grateful to those who helped pack those trailers. We are grateful for family and their willingness to help us achieve our goals.
We did have T's clutch go out in York, Nebraska. The Lord blessed us by making sure it went out when he pulled into the gas station and not on the interstate. The chevy dealership was a mile away and so two and a half hours later, we were back on the road.
Stayed tuned for how I surprised my daddy.

Funny K Moment
"Mom, after the races were over, the cars slowed down and went back to their natural habitats in the back of trailers."

TIME FLIES
There is so much that has happened since the first of this year, and I did not blog about it because I was trying to surprise my daddy. I think I was successful in that, so now I can share what has been going on publicly.
This is the first opportunity since we have moved back to Idaho that I have had to actually get on the computer and do some blogging. I have not pictures as of yet, because things are still being unpacked and situated.
The biggest thing that happened was that we moved back to Idaho.
The next biggest thing is that I am going back to school. I have had a week of class and like it so far.
We were able to get two of our children into a charter school that we absolutely are very excited about. And M and J are excited as well. Hopefully, C will be soon because she is number 22, and K will have to wait until first grade.
M starts driver’s education in two weeks. I am amazed at how the time has flown and how I somehow have a 15-year-old who is capable of driving. On the positive side, it will be nice to have one more driver in the family because we cannot seem to get everywhere we need to sometimes.
J will be doing girl’s camp this year. She is not really sure about it, but I have every confidence that she will enjoy herself because one of my good friends is in charge of camp, and she is a very fun person.
C and K are enjoying all the space we have to play outside and run around. We are doing the summer movie program, so that is something they look forward to.
We have met up and reconnected with cousins, which did not take long at all. I have been able to spend time with two of my sisters and hopefully I will get to see my brother and other sister very soon.
I will blog more in detail when I get my camera connections unpacked and uploaded to the computer.
Have a great weekend!

A QUIET SUNDAY
A picture story with some words.
A family takes a walk over an old rickety bridge to…
Carefully climb down some unstable rocks on their way to…
Walk up the river to find a safe place to cross so they…
Could take a few informal family shots and…
Indulge this 15-year-old in capturing some interesting poses and…
Convince this beautiful girl that more pictures are needed with her glasses before she gets contacts and…
Let this one pose how she wanted, which makes her look so sweet then to…
Ask this one to let the mom take a picture, and he chose to imitate his sisters in posing silly but…
but finally got this one. Then quickly turned around to…
Capture this one of the dad watching his children appreciate nature and seeming to blend in to the scenery.
Then thanks to a daughter we have proof this mom was there enjoying the outdoors as well. When this was done, she set them free to…
Learn to skip rocks from their dad and…
Run carefree in the river, sandals and all and then…
Some of us carefully crossed the rocks back to the truck to return home.
THE END.
SHE GAVE US THE GIFT OF PARENTHOOD

JANUARY IN A NUTSHELL
1. I lost 10 pounds.
2. C started taking dance, which she gets to do for free because I volunteered as the helper.
3. J started taking guitar lessons, which her teacher says she was born to play.
4. K is spelling more and more.
5. Relisted our house on the market...(expecting a great miracle to have it sold this year).
6. We had a snow day, which I enjoy hanging out with the kids and taking it easy.
7. Had New Beginnings with M and J. I was so proud to watch M fulfill her duties in young women's (she led the music, made the decorations, and made the cake for dessert) and I was able to help welcome and introduce J because she will be going in this year. I am so blessed to be their mom.
8. M and I gave a talk in sacrament meeting together. So glad I was able to research the topic I did.
9. Hunted with T to try one last time to get me a doe.
10. J and C had some friends sleepover that is always fun for them.
IT IS TRUE
"Lift up your hearts and be glad, for I am in your midst, and am your advocate with the Father; and it is his good will to give you the kingdom. And, as it is written--Whatsoever ye shall ask in faith, being united in prayer according to my command, ye shall receive. " D&C 29:5-6
What a great comfort it is to have these words written to know that it is going to be okay. My Father in Heaven is with me, and if I have faith and ask him in prayer, I will receive that which I need. Our family has had some miraculous things happen to us this month, and we KNOW that it is the hand of our Father in Heaven answering our prayers.
Awesome.
